About the Practice

Frames of the physician

The congress excerpt is in Turkish.
Dr. Burak Demirhan is a medical doctor who performs injection-based medical aesthetic treatments at the practice in Küçükyalı, Istanbul. A 2022 graduate of Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Demirhan is also the practice's responsible physician. Which procedure is carried out is decided after a detailed examination.
The physician and responsibility
Treatments are carried out by Dr. Burak Demirhan. The facility is a muayenehane — a single-physician private practice — and its responsible director is the physician himself. Responsibility for the treatments at the clinic and for the information on this site is therefore not divided; it rests with one person.
The author and the reviewer of the medical content on this site are the same physician. At the bottom of every page you will find the author's name, the date of the last update and a contact address for questions about the content.
Congress talk
At FACE Bosphorus 2026, Dr. Burak Demirhan gave a talk on the place of 3D facial imaging in the examination. Below is the part of the talk with the introduction and the description of the method; sections containing patient images have been removed. The talk is in Turkish; an English translation is given under the video.
English translation of the talk
Hello everyone, I'm Dr. Burak Demirhan. I was born in 1997, the third child of a surgeon father and a dentist mother. I graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2022; after completing my compulsory service I opened my own practice straight away. I have been doing medical aesthetic treatments for about four years. We came across Aura at a congress chaired by my mentor Yasemin; within three days the device was in our practice, because it solved a very big problem for us. Since 4 December we have taken more than 680 Aura scans. I have attended IMCAS, AMWC and many congresses in Türkiye; I have trained a great deal with my mentor İlker Yörük and benefited a lot from Arthur Swift's academy. For us, Aura means one capture and a smarter consultation: we capture the face in just 3 seconds, and the consultation that follows is far better informed. The device has 12 plus 1 lenses and 18 light sources. At my practice, everyone who comes through the door has an Aura scan first. Earlier technologies could not deliver accurate 3D precision, took time and needed several captures. Aura can model the whole face in a single capture of about 3 seconds.
Approach
Planning is governed by three principles: a natural appearance, patient safety and realistic management of expectations. These are not a slogan; they are three filters actually applied at the examination.
Natural appearance
The aim is not to make the face unrecognisable but to soften the point you find bothersome without disturbing your existing proportions. This is why the assessment is not confined to a single area: facial proportions and the balance of expression are looked at, and how volume added to one area will look in the neighbouring area is discussed separately.
Patient safety
Before treatment you are asked about your medical history, the medicines you take, any tendency to bleed and previous treatments. If you have had filler in the past whose content is unknown, no new treatment is planned without knowing what is already there underneath. After the procedure, you are told separately which findings are expected and which signs must be reported without delay.
Realistic expectations
Not every expectation can be met with an injection. Filler adds volume; it cannot remove tissue or lift sagging. Treatments aimed at skin quality, for their part, do not add volume. If what you expect lies outside what the chosen treatment can do, this is said plainly at the examination and, where necessary, a surgical assessment is recommended.
Treatments are not planned as standard packages. The same procedure is not given to two people with the same dose, in the same area and with the same number of sessions.
What the practice does
The scope is limited to needle-based medical aesthetic treatments:
- Hyaluronic acid filler — lips, nose profile, jawline and the under-eye area
- Botulinum toxin treatments — expression lines
- Treatments aimed at skin quality — polynucleotides, skin boosters and mesotherapy
- Collagen-stimulating treatments
- Aura 3D facial analysis — measurement and planning before a procedure
The page for each treatment sets out, in separate sections, what it does, what it does not do, who it is not given to and its possible side effects.
What the practice does not do
What a practice does not do is as much information as what it does. The following are deliberate limits:
- No surgical procedures are performed. A private practice is not a suitable setting for procedures that require operating-theatre conditions and general anaesthesia; expectations such as a nose operation call for a surgical assessment, and this is said plainly.
- Fillers described as permanent are not used. They are avoided because they cannot be reversed and carry a risk of tissue reactions that can appear years later; the hyaluronic acid fillers that are used can be dissolved with an enzyme when necessary.
- No aesthetic treatment is given to anyone under 18.
- No aesthetic treatment is planned during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- No procedure is recommended to a person whose concern about their appearance markedly affects their daily life. In that situation no aesthetic treatment brings the relief that is hoped for; a separate assessment comes first.
- You are not expected to decide on the same day. Leaving the examination without a procedure is a usual outcome, and you do not need to give a reason for it.
How the information on this site is prepared
Health content changes the reader's decisions, so it calls for its own publishing discipline. The rules applied on this site are these:
- Every page carries the author's name, the date of the last update and a contact address for questions about the content.
- Patient reviews, thank-you messages and expressions of satisfaction are not published — they are not brought here even when they were written elsewhere.
- Before-and-after images are not published.
- AI-generated images of people are not used. The photographs on the site are real photographs of the clinic and the physician.
- Fee information is not published. A figure given before it has been decided what will be done would be misleading in any case; fees are discussed at the examination, once the planned treatment is clear.
- Treatments are described by active substance and method, not by manufacturer or product name.
- Risks, possible side effects and the situations in which a treatment is not suitable are written as a separate section on every procedure page; a page that leaves them out is not published.
- If you find information on a page that is wrong or incomplete, you can write to info@burakdemirhan.com.
